What Is A Man

17/Junior
Dorm: 321B

Meet Quasimodo, the former bell ringer. When Frollo, his adoptive father, caught wind of Walt Academy he finally decided to let Quasi out of his bell tower just to ship him off to this high-class reform school. Quasi went without any real arguments, just happy to get out of Frollo’s clutches. Quasi wants to see the world, meet people, experience life! He figures that Walt, a reform school complete with bad asses and brainiacs, is a good place to branch out and figure out who he really is opposed to what Frollo has always told him he is. Fuck Frollo! Quasi‘s ready to prove Frollo wrong. He’s not stupid, he’s not worthless, he’s not lazy and he’s not good-for-nothing. And he’s not ugly!
Who I Follow

Bo rolled her eyes as Quasi said there was drama at home. “Tell me ‘bout it. My Poppa called on my birthday, and it was tense at best. I think my Momma was listenin’in tha background.” Bo laughed, shaking her head. “I worry ‘bout him sometimes.”

Bo’s eyes flew open in surprise, another laugh flying out of her with more of a shocked tone. “Oh of course! You so owe me a dance. I danced with everyone last night.” Bo sighed, glancing around them. “Where’s tha music?”

Quasi listened as Bo explained about her home life. That all seemed awful. However Quasi felt bad for her when she spoke about how tense her conversation with her dad was. The thing was at least it was her real father she was having disagreements with, instead of a man who wasen’t even her real father, was something Quasi was extremely jealous of.

He smiled when Bo finally realised why he he had asked her out here. ”The music. Right here,” Quasi said as he took a step back. Tuning around quickly he bent over and pressed play on a small battery powered C.D play he had brought out here. A soft, slow song came out of the speakers. Standing up and turning around he held out his hand to Bo. “My I?” he asked.

Bo laughed, shaking her head. “I’m just teasin’. I should stop.” Bo’s hands rubbed against her upper arms a bit, a shaky breath sounding from the scarecrow. “Is yer Poppa okay? I mean - you keep havin’ ta go home.”

Bo smiled as Quasi said he missed her, her shoulders jumping up in a soft shrug. “I missed ya too. Yer a good friend Quasi,” Bo said, her smile widening. She nudged him in the side. “So why are we out here?”

Quasi looked up when Bo asked if his father was ok. Now how was he supposed to explain this to her. Him and Frollo had such a strange relationship, especially now. After Quasi had finally yelled at his father to let him come back to Walt, and Frollo had coolly said that he could, communication between them had been none. He decided that right now, at least until he got things more figured out, he wouldn’t say anything to personal. “Ya my father is ok. Just a little drama about whether I should be going to school here or not.”

He watched as her shoulders moved in a shrug. It was almost comical how high his stomach soared when Bo said she missed him, and then how fast it plummeted when she said that he was her friend. Was that all he was ever going to be. He was snapped out of his thoughts when Bo nudged his side. “Oh well you said you were going to save me a dance. I was wondering if that offer still stands?”

Bo groaned as she rolled off the bed, thanking the Lord that her hair was somewhat dried at that moment. Walking over to her closet, she shifted through a few dresses until she pulled out a red one, holding it up to give it a one glance over before turning back to her bed. She quickly slipped the piece of cloth on, sliding on a pair of black flats before snatching up one of her dorm keys. She slid it onto her wrist as she exited into the hallway, padding towards the exit.

To be quite honest - her stomach was all kinds aflutter. She wasn’t too sure if it was the alcohol that was apparently in the punch at Prom, or the fact that she was seeing Quasi. Bo had heard somewhere that absence made the heart grow fonder - but when Quasi had poofed, Bo had just shrugged and moved on. It wouldn’t have been the first time someone had disappeared on her, and Bo wasn’t one to dwell on something that almost happened.

Miraculously stepping out of the castle, Bo spotted Quasi by the lake. She mustered up a smile as she crossed towards him, her arms crossing her chest. “Hey Quas!” Bo called out when she got closer, the smile now widening. “Long time no see,” she added, pulling the boy into a quick hug before dropping back down onto her heels.

Quasi watched as Bo walked out of the school and walked over towards her. Her arms were crossed over her chest and she had a smile on her face. Two things that didn’t really go together if Quasi thought about it. That couldn’t be good. He knew that him disappearing wouldn’t just blow over. He just hoped he could fix this. He couldn’t loose anybody else.

When Bo hugged him Quasi was tensed. However Quasi wrapped his arms around her waist and gave a light squeeze. She pulled away, spoke and Quasi tried to suppress a cringe. “I know. I can explain how sorry I am for leaving without saying anything. It wasen’t very nice,” Quasi said looking at his shoes. “If it counts for anything, I really missed you.”

Quasi walked back and forth under the tree by the lake. The sun had just about gone down and the twinkle lights he had hung up in the tree were sparkling in the dim light. He really hoped this idea was a good one. Quasi felt really bad about leaving Walt without telling anybody. Especially Bo. It was like she said he had “poffed” again. He was really worried that after his newest disappearing act Bo would want nothing to do with him. However when he had returned and Bo said that she was saving a dance for him, Quasi’s insides flipped a little bit. It seemed like he still had a chance. This time he was determined  to make it work. Because he couldn’t make it to prom to dance with her, Quasi had thought up the next best thing. Hopefully a dance under the stars would be good enough. Quasi looked up to the dark night sky. A few stars were twinkling up there. “Stars check,” Quasi mumbled. “Now I just hope I can check off a partner.”

  • Quasi: Bo! Are you bussy at the moment?
  • Bo: Shoot. No. I'm not. I just got back from the showers.
  • Quasi: Cool, um would you be willing to meet me down by the lake. I have a um.. surprise for you
  • Bo: Oh. Well. Okay then. Let me just - change out of my PJs real quick.
  • Quasi: Ok that's fine. See you in a bit.
  • Quasi: Bo! Are you bussy at the moment?
  • Bo: Shoot. No. I'm not. I just got back from the showers.
  • Quasi: Cool, um would you be willing to meet me down by the lake. I have a um.. surprise for you.
